Trump’s Signature to Feature on New US Banknotes and Gold Coin

Donald Trump’s signature is set to appear on new US banknotes, marking a first for a sitting president. Traditionally, American bills display the signatures of the Treasury Secretary and the Treasurer, not the president, according to P.

This announcement was initially reported by Vanity Fair.

It is the latest instance of Trump imprinting his name and likeness on American cultural institutions, following the renaming of the US Institute for Peace, the Kennedy Center’s performing arts building, and a new class of warships, among other tributes.

Commemorative Gold Coin Featuring Trump

The plans align with an ongoing effort to feature Trump’s image on a coin.

Earlier this month, a federal arts committee approved the final design for a 24-karat gold commemorative coin bearing Trump’s image, intended to celebrate the Fourth of July. Late last year, the US Mint unveiled designs for coins commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence, depicting founding documents and the Revolutionary War, but not President Donald Trump, despite allies’ attempts to include his likeness.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in a release that “there’s no more powerful way to acknowledge the historic achievements of our great country” than with US dollar bills bearing Trump’s signature.

US Treasurer Brandon Beach remarked that printing Trump’s signature on American currency “is not only fitting but well-deserved.”

The US Bureau of Engraving and Printing is tasked with producing all banknotes, while the US Mint is responsible for creating all coins.
